The newer West course shows some clear differences between the front and back nine. Players begin by navigating their way through a hilly front nine, made tough by imposing pine trees which line the fairways. From the 10th hole onwards, elevation rises and players are on top of the hills.
Often considered a tough course, but perhaps the most rewarding in La Manga, the West course comes to its conclusion with a breathtaking view from the 18th tee. Driving the tee shot into a view consisting of La Manga complex in the foreground, and mountains in the background, is a sight not often forgotten by any golfer.
