This championship golf course on the Costa Dorada complements its equally high-quality neighbour The Lakes, with a fine mixture of tree-lined fairways and open lakes. A tough golf course with plenty of changes in elevation to contend with, the scenery of Cape Salou mustn’t serve as a distraction.
The variation of physical characteristics is what makes this course so interesting. There are also some very long par 5s to test any golfer’s strength and technique.
Situated about an hour south of Barcelona, there is a nearby nature reserve which ensures the presence of all sorts of birdlife.
Highlights of The Hills include the 18th hole, in which the view from the tee is an intimidating one. Several bunkers dominate the left side of the player’s vision, whilst the fairway runs down to an imposing lake. The only way to finish the round on a high is to work your way around the sharp dog-leg right towards the green, and away from the water.
