One of our most popular destinations located less than 1.9 miles from Benidorm, the 4* Hotel Melia Villaitana offers a luxurious spa area, outdoor swimming pools and an artificial beach. Villaitana also dedicates some of its areas to The Level exclusive rooms and services, where The Level guests have private access to The Level Lounge with open bar and private buffet, daily cocktails, press and concierge services and pre-arrival services. There are 2 golf courses located withing the hotels grounds both designed by Nicklaus Design. The surrounding environment has been endowed with a special microclimate that allows the enjoyment of nature at the same time as offering challenging golf.
The variety of grass that make both tours through their tees, fairways (fairways) and rough, is the variety of princess bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon), which offers all the guarantees for a perfect gameplay at all levels. The greens are shaped by agrostis estolonífera (variety providence) giving them an excellent quality to play at the highest level.
The Levante Golf Course par 72 is American style with wide fairways and exquisitely shaped greens over 6576 meters long and enjoying wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra de Finestrat. The Levante course is the championship offering at the Melia Villaitana resort and with 106 bunkers and three lakes to navigate, it’s a tester. However, don’t be discouraged as five tee box options mean you can enjoy this course no matter what level you play at. The 220-yard par-3 12th hole is one of the highlights of the round on the Levante course. This tricky hole is protected by four deep bunkers and the green is in a natural amphitheatre. A par here is a great score so if you make one, be happy and move on to the next! The Nicklaus Design team like to make long and challenging courses with a real American feel, this course definitely fits this mould.
The Poniente golf course par 62, length of 3858 meters, is located on the hill side of a Mediterranean pine beautiful valley with sea and mountain views. It is one of those courses out there that just bring joy to your day as you play it. Wonderful pine trees and streams decorate the course as well as give you challenges to negotiate whilst you’re out there. The 284-yard third hole is one of the gems on this course. It’s one of the tougher holes on the course with bunkers awaiting errant tee shots, but the views of Benidorm and the Costa Blanca make it an easy hole on the eye.
Your package at Melia Villaitana come with golf included – 2 rounds (one at each course) on 3 night stays, 3 rounds on 4 and 5 night stays and 5 rounds on 7 night stays. Buggies are included on Poniente and can be pre booked at an additional cost on Levante. It is also possible to upgrade from the included round(s) on Poniente to play additional rounds on Levante at an additional cost.
Beyond the resort itself Benidorm offers itself as a great destination for golfing groups with its extensive nightlife and a huge variety of bars and restaurants.
