Quinta da Ria

Quinta da Ria is a PAR-72 with 18 holes where five lakes were strategically built to create natural course hazards in the game, providing irrigation and maintenance to the natural fauna and flora. Thousands of carob trees, olive and almond trees are contributing to the natural balancing of this course.

Right from the start of the round you will be able to recognize the work and design of a world-renowned Golf Course Architect – Rocky Roquemore.  The idea of the architect was to create a challenging golf course, yet maintaining the original natural landscape with thousands of ancient olive and carob trees.  Over 100 strategically shaped bunkers, as well as undulating greens and artificial lakes were added to complement this layout.

From the first to the eighteenth hole, you will be challenged to use every club in your bag.  The biggest challenge is however, the 10th Hole (Signature Hole) with its 422m PAR 4 – Stroke Index 1. Game strategy is required from the tee to the green. We challenge you to cross over the large tree known as “Love Tree” and reach the green in two strokes!

The back nine holes takes you back to the magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. The setting is a unique combination of Nature and Golf.  Take some time to appreciate the huge variety of wild life that inhabits this area.
